Board of Directors
Terry Wood, Ph.D., President, is a retired professor from the College of Public Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University where he researched and taught statistics, measurement, and research methods. He has practiced and taught meditation techniques for almost 40 years. He is trained in Reiki I and recently completed his Reiki II training. Terry is a practicing Buddhist and is actively involved in developing a Healing Ministry at First Christian Church in Albany. When not at home with his daughters and wife, you can find him on the tennis courts or the golf course.
Michael Kennedy, Vice President, is a retired professor of Business and Management from Northwest Christian University. He holds a BA in Finance, MS in Financial Management, and a Doctorate in Business Administration. He has six years of experience in management at US National Bank and is a former pastor and Navy chaplain. He has served as chair, treasurer, and board member of numerous nonprofit organizations.
Doug Collins, Board Member
Doug is a full time seminary student at the University of Chicago Divinity School where he is pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree. In his "spare" time, he designs websites. He plays jazz piano, and enjoys cooking, sewing and camping. Doug joined the Board in January.
Council of Electors
Betsy Brandenfels has a BA in Psychology and an MS in Speech & Hearing Sciences from Portland State University. She serves on the Children’s Ministry Team and as a Christian education teacher for children in her congregation. She has been active in scouting for over six years and served as a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 175. Betsy also volunteers in the classroom and as Library Assistant at her children’s school.
Robin Cushman holds a BA in Psychology and an MFA in Fine Art Photography. She has worked with newspaper, magazine, and book publishers since 1994 as photographer and photo editor. Robin has taught university classes in photography and visual culture. She has served on the boards of non-profits and the Lane Community College Small Business Development Program. Robin is interested in healing prayer, has studied Therapeutic Touch and is pursuing spiritual growth through Spiritual Direction.
Patricia Evans is a third generation minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Senior Minister of the First Christian Church in Albany, Oregon. She is a graduate of Chapman University and received her Master of Divinity degree from Claremont School of Theology. Patricia’s interest and experience in healing ministries was strengthened by her participation in the Iona Community in Western Scotland and in her study of Reiki.
Hope Lyda holds degrees in Journalism and Film from the University of Oregon. She has worked in publishing for more than 15 years. She is a substantive editor of numerous genres and the author of women's fiction, devotionals, and gift books. Her One-Minute Prayer series has sold more than 800,000 copies.
