Reiki I Class
What will I learn?
You will learn everything you need to practice Reiki for the rest of your life! The basic hand positions are taught as well as additional positions for specific areas of the body. You will learn how to give yourself a daily treatment and to share Reiki with other people, plants, and animals. You will hear the story of Reiki as it was told to me and learn about the global Reiki community. You will be taught how to use Reiki in a variety of situations (i.e., hospitals, in someone’s home). Each class consists of a presentation, sharing and discussion, an individual initiation, and time in practicing the hand positions. Students give and receive Reiki each session.
There is no special preparation needed to take Reiki other than an open heart and mind. If you wish to read about Reiki, please email me. I’m happy to recommend books that are based on solid research and present the information in a clear and concise manner.
The class is taught over four consecutive three-hour sessions in one of these formats:
- Thursday and Friday (6:30 – 9:00 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
- Friday (6:30 – 9:00 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and Sunday (2:00 – 5:00 p.m.)
Reiki relieves stress and anxiety, reduces physical pain, creates deep relaxation, deepens your intuition, and brings clarity of mind and healing in the body. You may notice life being easier and that you are less concerned about daily challenges. Your mind may be quieter and you may respond to situations with more compassion and understanding. As your body moves into deeper balance, life may flow more gently. Through daily practice balance is experienced in the body, heart, mind, and spirit.
Finding the person to become your Reiki Master requires discernment. It is important to spend time seeking the person you will follow on this path of Reiki. Questions you might want to ask before agreeing to take a class from someone might include:
Training: When did you complete each level of training? How many hours of instruction were involved? How long have you been teaching? Were you physically present when you were initiated? How do you describe Reiki?
Practice: Do you practice daily self-treatment? What experience have you had? What is your unique perspective as a Reiki practitioner? How long have you been practicing? Can you share your personal experience of Reiki with me?
Sacred Path Ministry also offers Reiki day retreats for all Reiki students several times a year. You are encouraged to form a Reiki support group with other members of your class. It may meet weekly, bi-monthly or monthly.
Yes, you can take Reiki II after a minimum of six months practice of using Reiki I on yourself and with others. This class is available to those called to be of service to the world. When you are ready, contact your Reiki Master to set a time for your training.
