What People are saying...

“Those who practice Reiki would greatly benefit from an unbiased point of reference. Elaine is someone with longtime Reiki experience and spiritual commitment. As a spiritual director, she knows when and how to ask the right questions about what we are doing and why in our Reiki practices." Marta Getty, Reiki Master

“Working with Elaine in sessions on the phone was at times intense. Because we both used Reiki, I was able to move quickly and with intimate gentleness to my next step. The changes and movements were deeply felt in my body as I experienced new ways of understanding and being. Each session with Elaine brought me to a deeper experience of my connection to my inner Divinity. The work that Elaine offers us is a gift that every Master and student of Reiki would be wise to accept. Joyce Winough, Green Valley, AZ

"I have been practicing Reiki every day since 2008 on myself, family, friends, and congregation members. I give myself Reiki at night and in the morning before I get up.  I know that it helps keep my body healthy and whole. I am very grateful that Spirit led me to Elaine, my Reiki Master, and grateful for all the healing energy that has helped me and so many others." Donna Smith, Roseburg, OR

“Ever since I read about Reiki, it seemed to call to me. It is gentle yet powerful, simple but mystifying, non-invasive but deeply felt. Elaine, your respect for the practice was contagious. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is a wonderful healing gift.” Julie Garvey, San Francisco, CA

Reiki I Class

What will I learn?

You will learn everything you need to practice Reiki for the rest of your life! The basic hand positions are taught as well as additional positions for specific areas of the body. You will learn how to give yourself a daily treatment and to share Reiki with other people, plants, and animals. You will hear the story of Reiki as it was told to me and learn about the global Reiki community. You will be taught how to use Reiki in a variety of situations (i.e., hospitals, in someone’s home). Each class consists of a presentation, sharing and discussion, an individual initiation, and time in practicing the hand positions. Students give and receive Reiki each session.

What preparation is needed?

There is no special preparation needed to take Reiki other than an open heart and mind. If you wish to read about Reiki, please email me. I’m happy to recommend books that are based on solid research and present the information in a clear and concise manner.

How long is the class?

The class is taught over four consecutive three-hour sessions in one of these formats:

  • Thursday and Friday (6:30 – 9:00 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Friday (6:30 – 9:00 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and Sunday (2:00 – 5:00 p.m.)
For other times, please contact Elaine@sacredpathministry.org.

What are the benefits?

Reiki relieves stress and anxiety, reduces physical pain, creates deep relaxation, deepens your intuition, and brings clarity of mind and healing in the body. You may notice life being easier and that you are less concerned about daily challenges. Your mind may be quieter and you may respond to situations with more compassion and understanding. As your body moves into deeper balance, life may flow more gently. Through daily practice balance is experienced in the body, heart, mind, and spirit.

Questions to ask

Finding the person to become your Reiki Master requires discernment. It is important to spend time seeking the person you will follow on this path of Reiki. Questions you might want to ask before agreeing to take a class from someone might include:

Training: When did you complete each level of training? How many hours of instruction were involved? How long have you been teaching? Were you physically present when you were initiated? How do you describe Reiki?

Practice: Do you practice daily self-treatment? What experience have you had? What is your unique perspective as a Reiki practitioner? How long have you been practicing? Can you share your personal experience of Reiki with me?

After the class, then what?

Sacred Path Ministry also offers Reiki day retreats for all Reiki students several times a year. You are encouraged to form a Reiki support group with other members of your class. It may meet weekly, bi-monthly or monthly.

Is there another class I can take?

Yes, you can take Reiki II after a minimum of six months practice of using Reiki I on yourself and with others. This class is available to those called to be of service to the world. When you are ready, contact your Reiki Master to set a time for your training.
